The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications from individuals wishing to serve on the following County Boards.  These positions will become vacant as of December 31, 2015.
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
o       One citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing
o       One citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing
o       One citizen who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing
o       One citizen who is actively engaged designated as an advocate for low income persons in connection with affordable housing
o       One citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing
o       One citizen who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing
o       One citizen who is actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing
o       One citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency pursuant to s.163.3174
o       One citizen who resides within the jurisdiction of the local governing body making the appointments
o       One citizen who represents employers within the jurisdiction
o       One citizen who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the local housing assistance plan

Board of Construction and Regulation
o       One consumer position
o       Two engineering positions
o       One mechanical contractor position

Fine Arts Council
o       Two positions available for residents interested in promoting arts in Hernando County

Library Advisory Council
o       One  position available for resident interested in supporting the Hernando County Public        Library System

Tourist Development Council
o       One accommodation owner/operator representative collecting the tourist tax
o       One representative involved in tourist enterprise

Applications are available in the County Administrator’s Office, 20 North Main Street, Room 263, Brooksville, Florida, 34601, by calling 352-754-4002, or by visiting our website at www.HernandoCounty.us/bocc/committees.htm.  Applications must be returned to the County Administrator’s Office no later than 5 p.m., on Friday November 13, 2015.

All applicants must be residents and registered voters in Hernando County.  Additionally, these are voluntary, non-paid positions and may be designated as an alternate member position.
